Default Drive shaft?

Did 98-02 f bodys come factory with alum drive shafts? If not how much weight would i save buy getting one? Who sells direct fit alum shafts? Thanks!

3.23 A4's and 3.42 M6's came with the aluminum, but the 2.73 A4's came with steel. Couldn't tell you the weight difference.

most of thew 98-02 cars will have the aluminum shafts, but they are weak at best. the stock aluminum shaft will probably be fine in an a4 car with no transbrake, but the tires stopping abruptly in a burnout is enough to twist it. I suggest the PST aluminum shafts if you are in the market for a good aluminum shaft that is good for 1000hp. pm or call me if you are interested.

I've weighed them side by side and the difference is little, only about 3 pounds.

I should have weighed mine. I just put a stock alum in my 94 v6 a4 car yesterday. but the alum is about 1/2 the weight. A noticable difference.
