What gears and are they worth it!

What gears and are they worth it! I have a 98 a4 ta which is my daily driver 
Well i have 3.23 right now and plan on doing every bolt on including cam. Should I stick with the 3.23 or go to the 3.42 or 3.75 which will over all be better 
and is it worth the 280 or so to spend or just leave the 3.23 in. Thanks
