needing to put new ring and pinion in right now im just needing some ideas. about 2 months ago my 2000 z28 started making a bad noise in the rearend, thought it was a bearing. found out it that a tooth had broke off the ring. so now its time to upgrade the ratio, basically just want to get the car up and running for drag season. the car is going to be start drag since i finally got my new truck. ive been looking at either a 3.73 or 4.10 set up and just need some ideas on what to expect. i so have a set of DRs also. just to give everyone an idea of what ive got and working with, this is how the car is set up as of right now: 2000 Z28 (top of the line z in 2000), stock LS1 with right around 156.000 miles, A4 with stock stall and B&M shift improver kit on race setting, Suncoast creations SS ram air hood with the adaptor box. polished stock TB and descreened MAF. FAST 78mm Intake with fuel rails. SLP True long tube header and gutted cats. Superchips tuner, magnaflow cat back with a 3" cut off for the track. my next mods plan on being sending out the PCM to be programmed right, bigger tb and a few other little odds and ends. nothing super major right now. also, right off hand, cant remember what the door sticker said, but im leaning more toward GU2, but ill post back up later with it. thanks for any info

I would go with the 3.73s personally. You need to know if your car came with 2.73s or 3.23s to know which gears you need to order. Do you have a steel or aluminum driveshaft?
90% of the car is OEM so im going to assume steel driveshaft. the door shows GU2 so 2.73. also, this might not make a difference, but it is something i have done on the car. the EGR valve and AIR pump were removed from the car but the codes r still in the PCM
eventually ill also be going with a higher stall, but havent decided on what the best step will be. like i said before, this car is going to be straight drag, so streetablity is not an issue
