Default 10 bolt w/Good Carrier ok for 400rwhp/

Someone told me this. I don't believe it. I'm considering a Strange 12 Bolt due to the fact gonna get Cam/Heads at a later date. No 10 Bolt is strong enough for 400-450 rwhp right?

With the auto its going to live longer, but still can break once you get close to 400rwhp.

If you do more weight reduction it will definitely take to load off the axle and many people have run 10's on it, but once you break it thats money lost.

I put a 12 bolt in my car just for the fact that I never have to worry about it.

If your into drag racing with sticky tires just get the 12 bolt and be done.

Also keep in mind you can sell a good 10 bolt with 3.73's for a good chunk of change to put towards your 12....

It will hold as long as it has a fresh rebuild (new bearings throughout) and you arent all out abusing the **** out of it.

If u buy a rear end dont get a 12bolt for drag racing... The tq arm stresses the casing and causes premature wear and gear whine(contact Bob @ brute speed for more info)! Imo get a 9" or s60 and be done. The 12bolt would be "ok" for a street car that very rarely sees track duty.

I've been at 400RWHP on a ten bolt forever. They are fine as long as you don't abuse them.

It's about traction--I'm running over 500lbft of torque at the rear wheels on one in my IROC for 5+ years now--never had a sticky tire on it at the track or I'm sure it would be gone..
