confused
confused ive looked everwhere on sites tryin to find specs on factory cars (98-02) on a 10 bolt. ive read that some cars have limited slip, some can spin both. the problem with my car its a 99 and im really sure it would spin both, as of lately its only spinning one wheel it has 140,000 miles i dont know if the clutches have gone bad or if its the limited slip actually workin can someone pls help me out with this and yes i do turn traction control off
I'm assuming you have a LS1-all LS1's have limited slip differentials but a V-6 car could have either.The torsen LSD was used in 99 and newer LS1's I believe.A torsen LSD does'nt actually have clutch disks to wear out-kind of a gear type diff.I guess that is a good thing about them but IMO they are not a very good LSD for drag racing.They don't equalize power to both wheels but when one wheel spins then some power is sent to the other wheel.Maybe you could find a proper explaination with a search-I'm sure I saw some posts on here about it.I can tell you my burnouts at the track often have one wheel spinning more than the other.The car does spin both tires though;not just one.I'm not sure what your car is doing but yes you do have limited slip.
