how much for used 9" center section

how much for used 9" center section My car needs a rear, and money is tight so I am thinking about purchasing a Moser 9" housing and coming up with the center section myself. I found a guy selling one with a 31 spline Trac-Loc LSD and 3.50 gears and is asking $300 for it.
Provided it is in good condition with the Nodular case is that a good price?

It sounds like a decent deal if that is the gear you want to run. If you want to change gears, its going to cost you another $100+ for the gears then $150+ to have them setup, so it might be cheaper to buy a unit for a little more with whatever ratio you want already in it.

$300.00 with a posi and a Nodular case is a screaming deal. I would be sure it is a "good" posi and that is the gear ratio you want. Like mentioned it makes no sense to buy something you are going to have to turn around and rebuild. You might as well just get what you need from the start.

That's a great deal if he will guarantee that it is not a screamer. The 3.50 gear won't be too bad for the time being. Bob

have u looked in to quick performance? I got quoted 1660 shipped fro completed 9" 35 spline, spool, gears,stock case and all 
i know many 9 and 10 sec cars on stock cases at the track every weekend. If you a m6 its at little harder on stock case. They say they r good to about 450hp.
