Centering rear end?

Centering rear end? Okay so iv been trying get to get my stupid ******* 9" centered in my car for the last 3 days and im always like 1/16th of an inch off and its starting to **** me off. Ive been going off of parts of the body to tabs on the axles or fender wells and off the front of the wheel wells to the tire and its KILLING ME!
how do you guys set up your rear end and measure it out to make sure everything is all squared up
