I know this is gone over but .... I have a lt1/t56 in my 93 s10 and i plan to upgrade from my 3.42s to either 4.10s or 3.73s. Well i have read as many threads as possible and i know most say that the m6 and a set of 4.10s are a match made in heaven but a guy that i refer to for ALL my car stuff says not to go with 4.10s
He says going to 4.10s will not be good for me and will be pointless especially in the low gears. He also goes to say that i wouldnt hook with the truck and those gears too. I have 27 inch tires now, and plan to have around that for when i get my drag tire setup. The truck is more of a DD than anything else but i do want to take it to the track time and time again.
My question is are 4.10s the best gears to get for me rather than 3.73s like he says? He even says that my 3.42s are fine too. But quick numbers are that around 60mph wiht the 27inch tires and 3.42s i get around 1300rpms cruising which is bogging it. With 4.10s at same speed it was at around 1850rpms with it in 6th gear.
I figured that the 4.10s woudl be great bc i can use 6th gear more and get better mpgs so i dont have to bog it out while in 6th gear.
