Default New 10 bolt

Hey guys...my 02 camaro 10 bolt took a dump a few weeks ago..not blew up just went bad..axles and everything really...Anyway i looked and looked for a 12 bolt and decided i didn't want to spend the cash if i dont need it.. The ten bolt has lasted 72k miles...car is a 02 A4 almost bone stock, has exhaust , thats it...I found a 4 channel 10 bolt with 20k miles and a 2 yr warranty for 700 bucks. Seemed high to me, so i found a 4 channel 10 bolt with 3.42s for 225 bucks. The rear came out of a 2002 6 speed car which i assume is why it has 3.42's. Anyway i got it bolted in the car, and i put the posi stuff from advanced auto along with mobil 1 synthetic gear oil. My question is ...did I even need it? If not, will it hurt anything? Should i drain it out? Also do you think i made the right choice for the cheap 10 bolt since i'm making stock power and the car is a daily driver and never sees the track. I have my Z06 for that

I agree. I've had my 10-bolt since 99 and I'm making 450 hp or so. It has a T2R posi and cover.

You might consider adding the GM Posi additive.

Weld your axle tubes-won't hurt anything.
