Default Bad luck! Bent axle!!!

Merry christmas to me.. While comming home from a concert I get cut off by some gangsters in a Camary with 26" wheels, I slammed into the median and cracked my rim. The wheel is cracked about 6" but just in the right area to where it's holding air. I drove the car another 5 minutes until I got home and everything seemed fine. The wheel doesn't even feel out of balance. I drove it to work today and home. Tonight though on the way home I can hear it started making a little more noise. Sounds like maybe the axle is bent and just rubbing the bearing a little more or it's tearing up the ring and pinion. This is a moser 9" with a Detroit locker. Any opinions welcome. And if anyone know the cheapeast place for a axle.

had the same thing happen to me before. I replaced the axle and went on my merry way. One week later i was driving down to Florida and the rear started making noise. By the time I was in Clearwater I COMPLETELY destroyed the ring and pinion gears, over .060 was eaten off of the pinion. That ended up costing me over 1000$ on top of the 300$ to replace the axle. I'm pretty sure I have the most expensive 10 bolt ever.

Long story short, I got fucked cause the shop didn't check ring and pinion clearance.
My advise to you is to have it checked out asap, cuz its prolly outta spec.

Damn that sucks...Definitely get that checked out, cause killing your hole rear end on a 300 dollar axle swap would not be good. Hope it turns out to be ok!

Here is a link to the Moser axles from my website. You should have 35 spline axles since you have a locker, but you'll want to make sure. Bob
