8.8 super simplification thought
I realize a 2" spacer would end up being closer to fbody length, but an 8.8 with 17x9 mustang wheels (+.94mm offset) is within ~.5" of what the overall length would be would be with a 17x9.5 fbody wheel (+2.2" offset) at the edge of each wheel. this would mean that even with the spacer there really wouldn't be much more stress on the studs or axle bearings than just a stock mustang wheel (just like 3rd gen guys running 2" spacers to fit 4th gen wheels)
anything fundamentally wrong with that idea? just crossed my mind and seemed like a really simple way to have a mildly upgraded rear for a street car
The reason I'm using a spacer right now is I'm getting custom offset CCWs (maybe something else) when I can afford them and they will have a nice fat lip on them
