10 bolt question

okay i went out got some gears, posi and an install kit along with the ta diff cover just to bandaid my rear for the time been. It just came to me after picking up my parts from my dealer. I got an eaton posi thats made for the 3.23 and higher and the gears to go with it.... not really realizing that it was for a carrier 3. which i have a carrier 2, so i phone my guy up and he said that you have the diff and the gears to match so it doesnt matter. I'm still alittle skeptical about it so i would like to hear your guys input. Thanks

you didn't state the manufacturer/part number of the gearset you got.
if you got the differential and gearset that match,yeah it doesn't matter.

Yes the gears and the posi have to match series. What you had before doesnt matter if you are replacing the gears and the posi.
