Default 4.10 4.56

What gear/rpm are you at with each?

i have 3.42's and they are killing me at the track. i am hitting the rev limiter in 3rd about 50' before the line.

also are all the 10 bolts 7.5'' ring gear in the fire chickens?

I was running a 4.10 with a 28" et street radial and going through the traps in the 1/8 mile at 6200 @ 100mph. Thats in 3rd gear with an auto. I assume you have a stick car.

yes all 10 bolt's in F-bodies are the weak *** 7.5" rear ends.

And I'd go with a 3.89 gears if your looking for decent 8th mile track gears. Just seems logical. I am sure you would hit 4th. I didn't like the top end with 4.10's... I'd hit like 130mph and had to shift into 5th... and I don't like to use over drive gears that much. That's not 130mph on a track lol. I run 3.75 gears as of now with my Moser 9".

Yeah as if 130mph isn't fast enough. If you want to drag race and traction isnt an issue I highly recomend the 4.10. Its not too extreme and it will make plenty of axle torque to get the car moving and reduce short times.

Well you really didn't give us any info for us to work with so I just told you my experience. You should probably just put 3.23's in it so you can race to 180+ mph.

How much difference in the 1/4 mile would the 4.56 give me over the 4.10s? I have a 98 Z28 (M6) with cam/intake/boltons and 150 wet kit..
