3.90 / 4.10 upgrade
I'm planning on upgrading to 4.10 or 3.90 gears here soon.
My question is, do you need an installation kit with both gear sets? And I have a 2000 model camaro ss but it has an Auburn differential. Will I need series 2 or series 3 gears?
thanks!

what sort of mpg difference have you guys seen with 3.91 over stock gears, or dose it not change due to the engine still no having much load? I am stuck between 3.91 or 3.73's but i need to commute with the beast in the summer months.

2000 SS M6 would be 3.42s' 3 series with a Torsen 'posi'.
SLP could've removed the Torsen and installed an Auburn, they might have changed the gears too.
Yes,lessening the 'engine load' affects mpg.
My OEM 3.23s' gave me 24.5mpg,my current 4.56s' give me 21.5mpg where, theoretically, they should have given me 17-18mpg. Less load=leaner(but still within factory parameters) mixture=good mpg
3.42s', or some gearset that SLP might have put in,are/would be 3 series.
