So I'm about to pick up a 9" housing and start a build to replace my 185K mile worn out 10bolt. Been trying to figure out which housing ends to get so I can still use the stock brakes. From the pics I've seen it seems like the aftermarket housing comes with the manufactures custom "small GM" ends that accept a 3.150 bearing. Then I assume you order custom GM axles that accept the 3.150 bearing with retaining plates to get rid of the C-clips?

below is the answer, Bob will sell you the correct ends also the correct axels ( depends unpone you 3 rd member splines)

you can buy a 9" housing and axle combo ,direct bolt .it will use all your stock brake stuff.check out some of the sponsors in here for parts and prices.
