Default Typical 8.8 build costs?

I need gears. BAD. I have to give traffic a couple car lengths from a stop so I can get my R's up so I don't rear end someone now. But I've got a bent axle an still on the stock 10b w 3.42's. But I was also eyeing a S60. -a little more but all the work is done, just bolt it in.

This is a street/track car but I need a durable rear and I found out that a Marauder 8.8 is a pretty close F-Body swap, just have to weld in spring pirches. And prolly get the diff and better axles, T/A mount fabbed have it welded and setup.

Ideas on the typical 8.8 build costs? Wondering of the S60 would be a better idea. I know the MWC 9" is a nice piece, but I don't have that kind of money.

Depends how much of the fab work you do yourself. fox body 8.8s can be bought for cheap. just bought another 8.8 explorer rear trac loc and 3.73s for 50$ on craigslist.

^ I cam tack some stuff into place, but I do t think my cousin's welder is powerful enough to get good penetration. Was thinking of cleaning and preping it good and bringing it to a local weld shop for them to do the critical welds.

I would do a google on this as there has been a few people who have done this but like said, you will need to make sure all the parts are in their needed place and welding is done.

The basic question is how much it will be vs 1500-1800$ for a used 12 bolt and if you can do your own sweat equity, it will make a diff.

Just Quickly Searching...

I think I'm just gonna do my shopping for a S60. The 9" build is more than the advertised price of a S60 I found and some of the fab work seems like a headache now. I can weld, but some of this rear stuff is a mystery to me. I understand backlash, pinion depth and what not but it just seems like the whole deal is really easy To *** up.
