Front sway bar problem Just bought a 98 Z28 from a used car lot. I've since discovered the front sway b ar is disconected on the drivers side. appears to have been done on purpose. The nut, bolt and bushings are not with the car. Is it dangerous to drive the car, and where would i find replacement parts to fix it? thanks. I live in the pensacola Florida area.
It is not neccessarily dangerous, just don't take turns too fast, and try to avoid situations in which you may have to swerve quickly (i.e. don't drive 80mph on the freeway in heavy traffic and tail gate). I've driven without the front sway bar for miles at a time, car is just a little sloppy in corners.
You can buy polyurethane endlinks for like 10 bucks on a sponser site, and it will stiffen things up a hair. Or you might be able to ask on this board if someone will send you their stock replacements, for those guys who swapped out for the poly units. I'd give you mine, but I put them on my '89, as 2 of my endlinks had snapped off, and the other 2 are about to go too.
