What gear for this setup?
Mods are currently as follows:
Pacesetter LT's/ORY with a bullet and dumped
SLP intake
3500 stall w cooler
basic b/s free mods
What's about to go on in a little bit...
231/239 .644/.623 on a 114+2 lsa grind cam
241's with comp springs/retainers, etc
Spray, not sure what size shot, but you get the idea lol
Overall, just would like to see what would be an ideal gear for this. I've heard a lot of random crap back and forth, and figured I'd see if anyone has something more specific. What would be an ideal/not extreme gear for me? Sorry for the novel lol, thanks guys.
If you are looking for the track only and just wanting the lowest e/t possible I would say 4.56's or maybe a little smaller,
However if I were to guess I would say you are like me and like to be able to actually drive the car around and do alot of highway pulls with the occasional dig race/track run, then I would say nothing taller than a 4.10 gear.
I personally will not even run 4.10's I am on the fence between 3.46's and 3.73's. The 3.73's will give you better pull lower down and mid range, but with the 3.23's I have from the factory I can roll out for days! 140 in 3rd gear no problem
and turning under 3k rpm on the highway at 80mph with an untuned stall that doesn't lock up
