Default 8.8 rear still the way to go?

I have a street car that I'm looking to make no more than probably 450whp with. I know the stock 10 bolt isn't going to hold up forever and I want to build a rear but I don't want to spend the $2k+ for a new bolt in rear so I figured I would just build my own. However I can't find any good write ups on what people are doing, I want to keep the stock 5x120 bolt pattern and 4.10 gears. Other than that I am open to options on what people are doing nowadays. Thanks.

here are many threats about 8.8 rear ends and imo is the less expensive way to go!

Here's what I did:

I absolutely LOVE the 8.8 we built for the SS, and I get comments about it all the time; definitely a conversation starter at car shows and events.
