Another twisted slip yoke!

Angry Another twisted slip yoke!

Just a warning to any serious stick shift drag racers. Spend the extra cash and get a real slip yoke! So far I've mangaged to twist 2 PST slip yokes. The first one was the cast slip yoke. That one twisted like a pretzel. The second one I had PST upgrade me to a their forged slip yoke. Apparently it only took 2 passes to twist that one I had to use an air hammer to get the damn thing out the back of the tranny. Now I'm gonna try out Moser's billet slip yoke http://www.moserengineering.com/othe...50-series.html. My car is a H/C LS1 with a 175 shot, built T56 Moser 9" on Hoosier 28x10.5's.

Wow! Is the driveshaft long enough? I could see you having problems if the driveshaft is too short. This is the first I have heard of the forged yoke causing problems. Bob

i have twisted two of PST's yokes as well. its a motha trucka to get it off with just a dead blow. so i ordered in a strange chromoly unit. they say its cryo treated and good for 1000hp but my car is just H/C/I car as well with hoosier DOT cheaters and i also toaste dmy trutrak as well as twisted up my left axle. great drive shaft from them though lol

Wow! You're running 1.40 and almost in the 9's with a 27 spline output! Or did you mean to link to a 30 or 31 spline yoke?

No, its still the stock 27 spline mainshaft. Some time in the future, I'm going to be upgrading to a 32 spline SSR mainshaft.

i just replace my 2nd PST slip yoke also. i said screw it & ordered a Mark Williams slip yoke, its definitely a stout piece. on a sidenote, i love how PST driveshafts are advertised to stand up to 1,000 hp, but their slip yokes twist with half that.

when i twisted the first one, i called PST & the guy said he had never saw one twist, but sent me a replacement at no cost to me, which was great. when i discovered the replacement was twisted, i didn't even waste my time contacting them for another junk piece.

i now have 2 more pieces hung on the wall that are casualties of a six speed car. lol

These reoccuring fatalities are why I only sell the PST Driveshafts these days with the upgraded forged slip yoke. I made the change earlier this year after several people had posted problems with the standard slip yoke. Bob

Sorry to dig up an ond thread but how did this moser slip yoke work out for ya? Im tired of replacing them from PST..
