What is this ring for?
What is this ring for? What is the silver ring for and do I need it? I have axles with screw in studs and I installed some ARP studs but they now hit the ring. The original studs had lock washers on them but now there is no room unless I grind the ring or get rid of it.

that is for your ABS/TCS system. there should be a sensor that mounts to the houseing that uses this ring to tell the computer how fast that tire is spinning. if you get rid of it, your ABS light will come on and be inoprative.
