differences between 98 and 01 rears
differences between 98 and 01 rears Ok I just bought an 98 Z28 vert with an A4, and ASR (assume thats the z's traction control) The 98 rear is making a little noise, instead of fixing it I'm thinking of putting my 01 M6 rear with abs\tcs in and buying a 12 or 9 bolt for my 01. Are they interchangeable??
As long as both cars had traction control (asr), it is plug and play. Only difference would be the 98 came with an OEM Auburn carrier and the 99-02 used a Zexel/Torsen carrier. Gear ratios will be different because A4s only came with 2.73s or 3.23s and all M6 cars came with 3.42s.
COOL I like the idea of the 3:42's in the Auto, while this sucks I just bought this car tonight and the rear is fried, I was going to get a 12 inch or 9 bolt for the WS6 anyways just wasn't planning on it this soon. At least I'm getting some good use out of the my rear
