4-10s to 4-30s??
I chewed some teeth off my pinion gear this weekend and i have a guy that has a set of 430s for my moser12. I have 4-10s now but i'm not sure what the 30's will do with my current cam. any ideas if this will help or hurt?? Here are the cam specs:
Duration: Intake: 232 Exhaust:236
Lift: Intake:.595 Exhaust: .601
LSA: 114
car is an 02 m6, 3600lb race weight with a 100 wet shot, and a tune for both N/a and the spray. Should i go ahead and bump up the ratio?????

i have them in my car. doing pulls on the highway it seemed slower and racing people it was alittle. my car had enough tq and 4.30s just spin the motor up soo fast its like in neutral. i would shift soo much and not gaining that much speed, it would have been better with 4.10s that would let my motor pull thru the gear more.

I love my 4.30's. I never had 4.10's though. I make 430 to the wheels and it has no chance of hooking with street tires until the middle of 2nd gear, maybe even on the third gear shift. 1st has no chance at any throttle above maybe 60-70%. It's cool with me, but definitely not for everyone.
In town and highway driving are much better than the 3.73's I used to have. Easier to be in the right gear. 6th gear is actually usable on back roads and at 70 mph, no need to downshift to go up hills.
On the jug at the track, I can't even imagine. The shiftlight would be on the whole time, lol.
