Massive vibration
Massive vibration I put my 8.8 rear in, had a steel driveshaft made. At any speed above 45mph, the car shakes violently. It feels like it is the driveshaft but could it be my pinion angle is way off? (never checked that). Could this be caused by the driveshaft being too long or too short? Any ideas would be appreciated.
i would check the pinion angle first, i did a 8.8 with ladder bars and took it out for the first spin and did the exact thing.. so i came home adjusted the bars and bam it was gone. so start with the easy first, if not then probably driveshaft. make sure you have some play in between the yoke and tail of trans if it is too long u will do some serious damage to your trans. ask me how i know lol.
Just for the heck of it, have the wheel balances checked at a good shop. I had a huge vibration starting at about 60mph and got worse with speed. Feared the rear ujoint was toast and/or pinion angle was off. Before doing that though, I checked the tires.....driver's side rear was 4oz's out
