Hey Guys quick question here, will this rear fit an 01 SS? If not what will be needed to make it fit. Thanks in advance. -Chris

a 3rd gen will fit a 4th gen.......but it is shorter so it will throw off your wheel backspacing.......while a 9 bolt is stronger than a 10...........parts are limited

9 bolts were optional in some of the IROCS's and third gen TA's. Tons of info on them over at thirdgen.org. They should fit into a 4th gen, but getting ABS and TCS to work will be a problem. I like 9 bolts (have one in my third gen), but IMHO, for a 4th gen you would be much better off to spend the extra cash to get a 9 inch, 12 bolt, or S60. The 9 bolt is only slightly stronger than the 10 bolt, and parts for it are expensive.
