Gear Selection Advice.
Gear Selection Advice. So I never dreamed my car would run in the 9s last year when I built my 9". The girst time I got to a quarter mile track last week it went 9.80s fresh off the trailor. Sad thing is I ran out of gear around 1100 feet or so. Well before the end of the track.
With a 3.89 ratio it went through the traps at 135 mph on the rev limiter set at 7400.
So not only do I need the right gear to get me through the traps but id also like to get my RPMs down around 7000 more along my power range of 6800.
Any experience or advice is welcomed.
