What's inside a stock m6 driveshaft that could come loose?

What's inside a stock m6 driveshaft that could come loose?
So I pulled my driveshaft yesterday as I'm pulling the motor, and as I lower the one end, I hear something move and thud inside the driveshaft. So I pulled the driveshaft and tilt it the other way and sure enough, something is loose inside it that when you tilt it, it slowly moves. From the sound of it, it's cylindrical in nature as it's not 'rolling' but sliding down the length of the driveshaft.
Anyone else experience this?

Definitely cardboard tube. When mine split apart I found it and had nothing but a WTF look on my face I'm sure.
It's not supposed to be loose, it's supposed to fit tight on the inside of the driveshaft. What is a realistic reason for it? I'm not sure. I don't see it dampening ****. Maybe absorb some SLIGHT vibrations??
