Default Rear End suggestions!!

Hello everyone, I just recently put my 2001 WS6 in the shop. My transmission just wasnt acting right and my rear end was jacked up. Okay, here's my question, I found out from my mechanic that I have a 3.23 posi-trac rear end. Is this the best for my car? Thanks!

what tranny do you have ,A4 or a M6 ?how much are you making ,or plan to make ?with stock to mild power level your rear axle is ok.if you like to go to the strip alot with sticky tires consider upgrading to a 8 3/4,dana 60,12 bolt or a 9" rear.I have seen 9" rears for your car for $1800 in the used parts section.

Didn't notice what your mods were but you're probly good to go. Simply changing your gears from 3.23 to a closer ratio while you've got the rear end dropped is an opportunity to add power cheap. 3.73 good for highway running, 3.90 & 4.10/4.11 good for street or light to light.

For an a4 many people seem to use 3.73s. That with a good converter will be a nice combo.

Best for what? By the way you described the rear end, I'm lead to believe that you don't really even know what any of that stuff means lol. You have a factory rear end. If it's not broken, don't worry about messing with it.
