Lug nut options: S60 I have a S60 on order from Carl. I got 1/2-20 studs and I need lug nut options. Carl recommends staying away from "acorn" or stock style lugs. My main question I suppose is what is the strongest option. I have plain old 17x9 ZR1s and want to make sure I get a setup that will fit in them. Carl recommended straight shank style that uses a washer. The car is M6 and boltons, will be making track passes with ET streets and high rpm dumps. What do you guys recommend?
The wheel you use dictates what type of lug nut you can use. With your ZR1s you need tapered seat lug nuts like stock. Straight shank lugs with washers are used with drag type wheels. The two are not interchangeable.
Carl is right of course, the straight shank with washer is stronger for drag racing but you will need to get new rims to use that type of lug.
