almost back on the road, one last question so i almost have the rear done. i have the new carrier and now i cant get off the stock 3.42s off the damn grenaded one. i tried everything i could throw at the bitch. so i have a friend with some stock gears in good shape. not sure if they are 3.42 or 3.23. i have a 6 speed car. will lowering the ratio with 3.23 hurt me at all, if so where. is it even possible? i have basically just a little above stock power and DD my car. thanks.

got another ring gear. the old one is like seized up on the carier, when it let go i think it swelled or something and locked that bitch on there.

sounds like from the way it's worded that you're gonna replace the ring gear only and not the pinion gear. Ring and pinions are matched sets from the gear manufacturer.
Ring gear to carrier fit is typically a slight interference fit. With the ring gear bolts loose but threaded in a few turns,hitting/tapping the bolt heads will 'walk' the ring gear off the carrier.
