Default 2.73's Vs. 3.42's or Bigger

For those of you that went from a 2.73 to a 3.42 or bigger is a gear well worth the money. As in 1/4 et's and all around with a good set of tires that is , becasue I am thinking about doing a gear in my car and was wanting to get some feedback

For me it was worth it - but I didn't do it for quarter mile times, but for around town driveability, and it is a VAST improvement. Most guys say that it doesn't make for huge improvements in the quarter for the money - 2 or 3 tenths tops.

Get a good torque convverter first then if your not happy you can change the rear gears.

I went from 2.73s to 3.42s and I think its a great street/strip gear. I dropped .3 with the gears in the 1/8th mile. I would also recommend getting a converter first, since you will see a bigger gain with that.
