Default Are all Nine inches the same?

Hey guys,
I imagine that some of you guys will probably think I am a fool but I don't have big money to spend on a rear end at this point.
My question is, I have a 9 inch rear from a 1957 ford ranchero. I am wondering if the center section is basically the same as the product offered form moser and stange etc. I understand that the strength is different but what I want to know is if I could install an updated center section and axles in the housing? Will the bearing and seals be interchangeable?
I really appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, the parts should all be interchangeable. Give Moser a call or email them to be sure. Also there are two different types of bearings that can be used in a 9 inch, tapered and sealed. It sounds like you're changing out most of it's guts, though so I don't know how much you will save. Plus you'll have to have Fbody spring purches welded on. Is this axle going to be the right width, or will that have to be changed also?
