did anyone try to fit 8.8 into 98-02 camaro

how did you fit it in to th rear end .. sorry to ask's so much but im willing to try

You have to have it built. The tq arm mount is the hardest part.

Instead of trying to build it yourself, Extreme Chassis makes an 8.8 that will bolt rignt in. Happen to have one myself, works good, no problems

what gears do you have and how much did it cost you

I started out with some 430's in it. Just recently I had them swapped for some 373's. I didn't even break this last set of gears in..lol. We put them in and went straight to the track...no whine what-so-ever!! Mine cost 1850 I believe..not 100% sure, it has been over a year ago since I bought mine.

I haven't had any problems with it. My car runs consistent 7.2's in the 1/8th and 60's 1.60's.

how much lighter is it than a 12 bolt?

I talked to him about the weight. He said he has never weighed them..only that the 8.8 is about 15# heavier than a stock 10 bolt.
