Default what u joint?????????

im in the process of installing my 9 inch in my 01 camaro. im to the drive shaft now. i know it needs to be an inch longer. im just gonna have mine cut and lengthened for now until i can afford a good ds. my question is what u joint do i need? would i be better off having them put a ford yoke on the end of my driveshaft or can i just have it extended and out a u joint in that will fit my ds and the ford pinion yoke?

I wouldn't waste anytime on your driveshaft, just get a Napa 447 conversion u joint for it. Yes, it will be one inch too short, but most people don't have a problem with it. Keep in mind the stock driveshaft can't handle a lot of power, and when they break they usually turn into a pretzel and take out the exhaust system and can put nasty holes in the floor. Bob

ok so i took your advise and got the 447 u joint. the caps on the diff side are too big. is there more than one option for a gm to ford conversion u joint? someone told me 9 inches has two different size pinion yokes

All the Moser rears that I sell I spec out for them to come with the 1350 yoke. It is possible that you have one with a smaller 1330 yoke. I'm not sure what conversion joint you would need, but I'm sure a Napa could look it up for you. Bob
