Question Carrier Removal Question

i'm in the beginning stages of an 8.8/f-body 10 bolt hybrid build. i think i've got a line on a low mile rearend with the gears and trac lok that i'm looking for.

my question is: is it possible to remove the carrier and ring while using the truing rod to weld my f-body tubes on the housing, and afterward, re-install the carrier and ring with all necessary spacers without having to set up the gear again?

wow, that doesn't translate very well from my brain to written word.

i'm running short on time, and would like to avoid any extra on this project.

As long as you keep track of what shims are where you *should* be fine. I recently tore one down, replaced the carrier bearings and reassembled it as it came out and then checked tolerances and it was perfect still. You really should check backlash though, it's easy enough to do and your pinion gear is staying in place (i assume) so that shouldn't change.
