When you went from the stock 10 bolt to the 8.8 besides the flange to bolt to the 8.8 does the driveshaft need to be longer or shorter?? Or was no length change needed?

Does it matter? If you're to the point of needing a beefier axle, the stock DS will be destroyed in no time

Measure and tell the DS shop what you want and be done with it

My stock driveshaft bolted up to the 8.8 with a conversion u-joint - the length is perfect. But I'm going to be swapping for a stronger steel unit this summer.

Not all stock drives hafts are aluminum and yes it does matter. Did a Th400 swap and I want to drive my car now and not buy two drive shafts before the rear is ready in a couple months. So if I can order one now for the 10 bolt and later just do the conversion joint I can drive again until then
