Stock axles
Stock axles Could someone please tell me some basic information about the axles on a stock 2000 TA. Is it a C-clip, pin? I have non traction control, that means 3 channel abs, correct? Just trying to replace a bent axle, any reccomendations? Im not looking for any outrageous performance, I would just like to replace it without going with GM parts. I have inquired about moser axles, but still not sure what I am going to go with. Open for suggestions. Thanks
I just read a great article in the May 2004 Chevy High performance Magazine. They took the issue of the weakness of the 10-bolt GM rear to Moser's John Bennett and he showed how Moser would refab the rearend to turn it into a VERY high-performance rearend. This included axles and the works. The list of parts totals $956.00 for a complete Moser upgrade. Step-by-step photos and the works. You GOTTA' get the issue before it sells out ... a GREAT article on cams and few other things. With labor and all, the upgrade/rebuild is about 1/3 the cost of a Moser 12/bolt. Includes the girdle cover, as well in the cost of parts. There's still a few issues on the shelves. You should get one to help you decide on your new axles. Hope this helps you.

Not My Calculation Moser gave the figures and the 1/3 cost scenario. Chevy High Performance Magazine endorsed the article. I would ask that you write or call either of them. I don't think Moser would allow them to print it unless it were true, so, you judge for yourself. Since you're local to UCF, I will hand off the magazine to you or I'll fax the article to you if you'd like to read it. It's a really good article and I would be happy to fax it to anyone who would be interested in reading it.
