Third member studs
Third member studs Is it ok to install the third member studs in a new Moser 9 with a stack of washers and pull them in with a nut or should I use a c clamp and socket?Not sure of any other way. Thanks.
I had no issues using a stack of washers and nuts. Make sure to get a TON of washers (some started digging into the housing and distorting), use a NEW nut for each stud, use some anti-seize or wd-40 on the studs, and put a small box wrench between the washers and housing before you start to help pull off the washers when you're done pulling the stud through.
I tried this method too and was about 50/50. Destroyed a few studs and said the heck with it and tapped the holes larger threw in some heli-coils and put in screw in studs. Either way, take your time!
