Another recommend me gears thread! Im putting together my 408 ci. I will be running a s480 turbo, with t56 magnum and 9 inch rear. Looking to make 800 rwhp if I can. Need a recommended gear. I was thinking 3.50's but I just not sure with it being manual and big turbo. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Most of the people I have dealt with in similar combos have run the 3.25 or 3.50 gears. Really depends on your tire size/type and engine RPM range.

I started with 3.73s in mine for Road race, and was recommended to go with 3.42s to reduce the amount of gear shifting needed. I'm switching rear ends this weekend. Drag race needs may be different tho.
Turbo cars don't typically need much gear...
When you say mostly track car do you mean 1/4 mile , 1/8 mile , road course ,etc... They will all have different needs.
If drag race - figure what you expect the car to be trapping and figure which ratio puts you at the top of 4th as you go through the traps on the tire rollout/height you expect to be running on the rear leaving a margin for error that you can make final adjustments to with rear tire height if need be to dial it in.
