Ring Gear Question Does anyone know if they make a 4.30 or 4.56 gear for a 12 bolt in a thick ring gear? My Moser has the series III carrier and I dont want to use a spacer. I already broke the ring gear bolts with a spacer when I had 4.30s.
I just went through the same deal...I ordered a 12 bolt 4.30 gear for a three series carrier. Gear got there, but the clearances weren't even close. Took a phone call to firgure out they sent the wrong gear and don't make one for the three series.
We checked a couple of places and gave up...I think he did say that Motive had a 3 series 4.56, but don't hold me to that. I wanted a 4.30 and wasn't really listening too close. ; )
I ended up buying the spacer...which I really really didn't want. What was hurt when yours failed and how much abuse/power did it stand up to before it let go?

I had probably 60-70 hard passes before it let go. I broke every bolt on the spacer/ring gear.It didnt hurt the ring, pinion, or spacer, just broke them off clean going into third at the track. Id like to go back to a 4.30 or 4.56 if I dont have to use a spacer.Currently I have 4.11s.
