Diff cover leak

Diff cover leak We need to re-seal the diff cover, what do you use?
Gasket alone
Tube sealant alone
Gasket and tube sealant together
Just wondering the best way to do this, so we do not have to deal with it again for awhile.

I use black RTV with a replacement paper gasket, bead on the rear end and tack gasket on top of that, bead around the diff cover and wait 5-10min so it becomes tacky and then bolt them together in a star pattern.

Same here, ultra black. Thin layer smeared on the cover, place gasket, thin layer on gasket or rear end. Not really enough that it oozes or anything. Never have any leaks!
