Default pinion angle

When I bought my 2000 z it was already lowered so I added some lower control arm relocation brackets and wanted to check my angle but wasn't sure what it should be set at, basically stock suspension components other than some bushings and relocation brackets.

If you don't have any adjustable parts then you can't change it. Unless you're doing this just because you are curious? Are you getting vibrations or something?

As already stated you'll have to have aftermarket adjustable components to adjust it. With that said, I set mine to -2.

No issues other than no traction, haven't been able to test to see if relo brackets helped and to cold and either rain or snow on ground, I have bfg g force tires dont think they like cold to much.

Pinion angle doesn't effect traction.

You can, but it has consequences. If you shim under the tailshaft bushing, you reduce the engine/trans angle and increase the rear axle angle. If you shim between the cross member and body, you increase the trans angle and decrease the rear axle angle.

Mine with stock components and no shims installed measured 4.5 degrees downward front to rear at the transmission and 3.0 degrees downward front to rear on the yoke bearing cap with a socket as a spacer to get a good reading. this would normally be called a -1.5 pinion angle on the forum. Angle of the driveshaft does not matter. I installed 3/8 shim under the trans bushing to get both at 3.5 degrees, which is a zero pinion angle to address vibrations.

If you're not vibrating, don't worry about it. If you are, let the fun begin.
