loose yoke

the yoke going into the diff on my cousins 2000 ss is loose. could it just be the seal? would all I have to do is unbolt the yoke and pry the seal out and use a socket to tap a new one in? at least, that's how its done on heavy duty diesels..... it is leaking oil from there too so I know its bad....

Not good! If the nut holding the yoke is still tight, then the pinion bearings are gone. Either way, the R&P is prolly toast...

it still drives good and strong except for a slight vibration at higher speeds and what seems to be a slight grinding when I lay off the gas....
