Axle shafts
Axle shafts So my rear end noise has increased over the past few months. Seems to be coming predominantly from the passenger side. My mechanic thinks it may be wheel bearing. I did want to change fluid in the diff soon so with this noise I was thinking about getting new axle shafts since I have read that the bearing may not necessarily fix my problem and why not get it all done at once. Question is I notice when I go to buy, there's a set for cars with traction control and a set for cars without. The car was originally optioned with t/c but somewhere along the way it got removed. I don't have the unit under the hood and my asr button does nothing. I assume the axle shafts haven't been changed which leads me to believe they are notched for t/c. Since I don't care about it can I just purchase the ones for cars without t/c? Or will this be an issue when I go to install.

If my car came optioned with tc I assume it's 4 channel therefore needing the axle shafts with tc? Can I tell by looking at the pumpkin? I'm gonna mess with my suspension today so I can take a peek....

If your car has the ABS or traction control removed then the new axle shafts can be from either application.
