Gear vs Tire
I am pretty sure the car is going to be on a 26" tire. Going to be a mild mannered build with some nitrous, looking at low 10's high 9's.
Oh yea, TH400, converter not selected yet. Going to be spinning to 6500-6800
For a 28" tire, either gear would work and 4.10's are a little more feasible. If you are aiming for more of a track car, my choice would be 4.10's. If you want more street manners, I would stick with the 3.73's.
TH400 Final Gear Ratio 1:1
-26" tire w/ 3.73's @ 65MPH = 3133 rpm
-26" tire w/ 4.10's @ 65MPH = 3444 rpm
-28" tire w/ 3.73's @ 65MPH = 2909 rpm
-28" tire w/ 4.10's @ 65MPH = 3198 rpm
TH400 is 2.48 | 1.48 | 1.00
3.73s + 26" = 141 mph at 6800 rpm
3.73s + 28" = 152 mph at 6800 rpm
4.10s + 26" = 128 mph at 6800 rpm
4.10s + 28" = 138 mph at 6800 rpm
