Gear vs Tire About to toss an S60 in the car, but it has 4.56's in it. A bitttt to steep for what we have going on. And I am unsure if I should switch to 3.54's, 3.73s or 4.10's....Because I don't know if I should run a 26" or a 28" tire.
I am pretty sure the car is going to be on a 26" tire. Going to be a mild mannered build with some nitrous, looking at low 10's high 9's.
Oh yea, TH400, converter not selected yet. Going to be spinning to 6500-6800

For a 26" tire, 3.73's should work well on a car that sees the street/highway. That way you can have a lower cruising speed. 4.10's are, IMO, a stretch for any auto that sees the highway and has a 26" tire.
For a 28" tire, either gear would work and 4.10's are a little more feasible. If you are aiming for more of a track car, my choice would be 4.10's. If you want more street manners, I would stick with the 3.73's.

-26" tire w/ 3.73's @ 65MPH = 3133 rpm
-26" tire w/ 4.10's @ 65MPH = 3444 rpm
-28" tire w/ 3.73's @ 65MPH = 2909 rpm
-28" tire w/ 4.10's @ 65MPH = 3198 rpm
