2001 rearend

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado with the 4.8 pushing 480hp it's one tire fire do I need to buy a new posi trac or is there any way I can use my stock rearend

Yeah you can replace it. Trutrac seems pretty popular among the truck guys.

I'd stick with the 8.6in 30 splinr carrier or else you're going to have to swap axles to match the diff
