Another 10 bolt thread
Another 10 bolt thread Well just like all the other ones ill start off saying i don't have the money for a 9in or s60 right now. But my current 10 bolt with 4.11 gears and a girdle is whining more than usual and i just want to do a freshen up to it. I picked up a eaton post unit for it cheap so I'm definitely going to throw that in there.
Im definitely going to do all new bearings and a solid pinion spacer for sure. i was gonna do moser axles but spending 350ish on new axles for a rear that i don't plan on keeping just doesn't make sense. or is it worth it? Also is welding the axle tubes a must do? The car is just bolt on's now, sees the track maybe once every 1-2 months in spring-fall. planning a cam only setup soon so want to get this out of the way first. also thinking of buying new 4.10 gears. But not really to sure. Looking for opinions.

Stating transmission type really can help here. Behind an automatic with current mods/ possibly camshaft there's no reason the rear shouldn't live for awhile. Behind an m6 and you're wasting your time and money.
M6 sorry. I know in a way it's "wasting" money but I need to get rid of the whining/howling. I'm definitely pulling the cover and having it gone through and the posi unit put in. Guess I'll just leave everything else as is.
