new gears screaming Just swapped out my stocks gears for some motive 3.73s. The break in procedure probably wasn't exactly perfect. I ran about 10 miles and let them cool. then went back out and ran about 10 miles and then did a hard pull 60 up to around 120 and now there howling LOUD. Does this usually happen and go away or are they toast?
Once a gear is not properly broke in and makes noise it will always make noise.

If they make noise now they will continue too, unless you just drove it around the block you can usually readjust your pattern. As a side note Motive gears will usually whine a little over a small speed range(60mph) typically and there is nothing you can do short of buying a different set of gears . If they make a lot of noise on the drive side the pattern is most likely way off. If you have a loud exhaust or radio you will never notice, but if you want to achieve a perfect "silent" set you will need new gears. The quietest set out there is the OEM AAM gears they are machined differently and run a much tighter backlash, they are easier to set up and the closest thing to a "silent" 10 bolt you can get. Our rear ends are hard to get quiet and are finicky because they are in a uni-body car with a torque arm, and an axle less then 2ft from or seats.
