So I picked up a second roller today that I want to start building for decent power. I have a 2002 mustang gt roller and underneath is the red headed stepchild to the 9 inch ! Anyways I know I'd have to make my own torque arm bracket, and a few other things, my main concern is the width of the rear. Is it much shorter than my 10 bolt? If so would it allow me to run bigger tires if I tubbed the car ? Would it be easier to attack this by cutting the axle tubes off of a 10 bolt and welding them too the 8.8 ? This isnt gonna be too crazy, something around 600-700 rwhp turbo auto ls . Any information would be appreciated !

lol wish I had done the same 😮😎 would've saved myself some serious $$$ and headaches 😂😂. All joking aside, any info? I see a few bad *** rides dipping into the 7s and I believe one 8.8 has hit 6s! Knowing this is enough to reassure me that it'll handle my minuscule power goals in this car .

I measured 64.5" from axle face to axle face on my 10 bolt. I widened an explorer 8.8 and used the suspension brackets off the 10 bolt for mine. I didn't care or want abs or traction control since it's mostly a track car. Ended up at 62" overall and now I can run normal offset wheels.
