Sealed Bearings
I bought Green bearings originally which didn't fit, but are considered race bearings. Does the bearing you have have an o-ring around the bearing case? From what I've read the Timken style can better handle side loading and would therefore be better in a street application.
Hope that helps some.
I have heard of the Green Bearing but that's all. I have a set for my Chrysler/Chvey differential that's just collecting dust under the bench. They are suppose to be better than the stock type. I don't know what the Timken style is but I have heard Timken got bought out or is no longer in business.
I was told by the folks at some high end mgfring place, RKF? that all bearings are made in China, except theirs. Upon closer inquire it was found that my style bearing from them was outsourced and did not have their normal 3 year warrentee, only 1 year.
As for the double sealed bearing, it was explained to me the bearing has a seal on each side (may be removable) and is sent packed with Lithium grease. (I would prefer Moly) It has two rubber o-rings around the outside case.
Actually it doesn't exactly help me, however my reply may help you and others, which is a good thing, if it turns out these are good street bearings.
Hopefully someone here will have experience with this bearing on the street and reply. Regards.
Which will be like this.
